Captain Robert Nelson. Revolutionary War veteran. Born 1760 in Rockingham, Richmond County, North Carolina. Died November 5, 1808 in Clarksville, Tennessee. Buried in Riverview Cemetery, Section 1, Row 13. Text says, "Robert was the son of Robert Nelson and Alice ________. During his lifetime he was a Revolutionary War soldier, lawyer, deputy surveyor, Justice of the Peace and Stewart County Clerk. "
