The Sioux City and Northern Packet Company, known as the Benton Line, the Power Line, or the Benton Transportation Company, was formally organized in 1879. It was a combination of four transportation companies (the Power Line, the Baker Line, the Charles Line, and the Benton Line). Fort Benton was the last navigable steamboat port on the Missouri River.
