Item Eco's Design(2024-04-29) Webb, EmilyMy sculptural work is focused on the beauty of nature and the preservation of that beauty. In my work not only am I helping myself explore the advantages of reduce, reuse, recycle but I hope to engage the viewers by creating works that are made from the earth and works made of recyclable substances such as plastic, metal and fabric. The goal of my work is to bring attention to the environmental damage human waste is causing. My work is about the fast fashion industry that is polluting other countries. My works combine biodegradable and recyclable works to call attention to some of the reasons for the mass amount of pollution, which is clothes made only to wear for a summer before being thrown out. I work mostly as a sculptor. so, my works will be 3-dimensional piecesItem Homage(2024-04-29) Moses, DeborahMy childhood was spent exploring and enjoying nature around my home. During the day watch dragonflies, butterflies, hummingbirds hopping from flower to flower, clouds passing by with strange shapes. At the end of the day, I look forward to the setting sun changing the colors of the sky. Then the arrival of fireflies, as the stars slowly emerge one by one in the sky. I’ve always connected with nature and those memories of my childhood can be seen in my work during the past year.Item Looking for a Tiny Friend(2024-04-29) Ruiz, GalaxieMy work explores cuteness and whimsical creatures, I like to view them as an escape from our reality. Whenever I finish a new piece, I can imagine it existing in another world separate from our own. One that is filled with fluffy bunnies, purring kittens, and cotton candy clouds. My practice includes painting, sculpture, and ceramics. I enjoy the process of working with my hands and building something out of nothing. I like thinking about what I can do to my pieces to make them represent me and I find it therapeutic to spend the time meticulously accessorizing each one.Item Navigating the Waters(2024-04-29) Johnson, HopeI build spaces for myself that I allow others to experience. When looking to create works, I like to build pieces for myself around my questions. The interactions that the work has with the audience are very important. The work is a reflection of my thought process. I want my work to give the audience hope and peace. The show Navigating the Waters is about my faith and my journey after my baptism. I create a space to help understand and break up my process of following Jesus and giving up my burdens. This space is made for me and I want to share my peace with the audience.Item The Phantom of the Eclipse Concert Hall(2024-04-29) Branham, DalainThe Phantom of the Eclipse Concert Hall is a retelling of The Phantom of the Opera within a fictional world of my own named The Hearthland.Item The Power of Autism(2024-04-29) Ninkovich, ColinThe Power of Autism is a collection of art across different mediums that I hope can show people how far I’ve come, and how much progress I’ve made with my talents as an artist. And I hope that it gives the viewers a taste of what all is possible for a high-functioning autistic mind to create. Art happens when one uses their mind to conceptualize an idea, and then uses the work of the hands to make that idea come to life. And for me, that truly is “the power of autism” in the palm of my hand.Item Unconditional(2024-04-29) Kell, LilyWhat inspires me most in my artistic practice is capturing raw emotion. Whether that be through portraiture, scenic field painting, or abstractly through a ceramic piece, I strive to capture the world the way I see it in hopes that others can feel and relate to it. I want to show the world through my eyes, the beauty that already exists and bring attention to the things I see need positive change. Sometimes I feel the need to create art that escapes reality. A world of ideal perfection and what I believe it should be. Fantasy themes and spiritual undertones continue to make an appearance in my artistic practice. I am passionate about presenting art that shares the soft vulnerable love that can and does exist between any two people and how it should be as equal and as recognized in society.
