dc.description Born April 19, 1809. Graduated from West Point in 1835. Contracted by iron furnace companies to provide medical services. Gained a lucrative practice in surrounding counties. In 1844 gave up medical practice and organized Rough and Ready Furnace Company. About 1866 he served Montgomery County as Magistrate. Died April 7, 1879.
