On the back there is the caption that reads, “The great antiquity of the cave holds a fascinating history. Known by the Indians into the dimness of time, it has seen savage massacre; been the ‘vault’ of counterfeiters, and has been the site where Jenny Lind sand on a bridge over the river Styx. She wrote her name nearby with a pine torch; the writing is quite legible even today.” | |
