dc.description	Author's thesis statements: 1. Through painting, drawing, and sculpture, I will address the beauty of African physicalities , discover and address the nuances between my heritage and American heritage, as well as distinctive cultural and societal issues that have constructed the black community. 2. Through ceramic sculpture, research and creative writing, I will explore histories of African people who were brought over on slave ships and forced to endure hardships simply because of the color of their skin.
