dc.descriptionBorn at Palmyra, Montgomery county, Tennessee. Was a newspaper editor in good stead with his neighbors and was asked and elected to represent them in the Legislature in 1848. He married Miss Mary McGavock, a daughter of the late John McGavock, of Nashville. After he served in the Legislature, you was called upon to be the editor-in-chief of the "True Whig", one of the leading political dailies.
