The back has a caption that says, “This imposing business house at the corner of Second and Franklin streets, also known as the Askew-Coulter-Owen Building, was constructed in 1890. Massive Romanesque arches with terra cotta ornamentation adorn this building which more recently housed McNeal & Edwards department store and McClellan’s variety store. …”
